The client hires a CFO. A team delivers.
Every role has its place. In smaller companies one person may wear more than one hat; what matters is that all four roles are covered.
You, as CFO
Turns numbers into decisions, runs the monthly finance meeting, negotiates with banks and investors and leads the finance team.
FP&A Specialist
Builds the budget, updates the forecast, models scenarios and keeps a 13-week cash flow forecast up to date.
Financial Analyst
Handles reconciliations, cash flow and the monthly management close, checked against the accounting records and the client's ERP.
Solidy operations team
Accounting, tax compliance, payroll and finance operations: bookkeeping entries, reconciliations, taxes and payroll.
One month of work, from close to decision.
Fractional CFO work is no mystery. It's a routine with a clear beginning, middle and end that repeats every month and gets sharper each time.
Close the month
The team closes the prior month's management accounts: P&L, margins and actual cash, reconciled with the accounting records.
Understand the why
FP&A runs budget vs. actual, explains the variances and updates the 13-week cash flow forecast.
Decide with the owner
You run the monthly finance meeting: numbers on the table, decisions made and an action plan recorded in the minutes.
Make it happen
Talks with banks, pricing and collections reviews, and the plan's projects moving forward, with the team following up throughout.
Less solo freelancing, more support at your side.
Applies to both tracks.
You lead, you don't key in data
Bookkeeping entries, reconciliations, taxes and payroll stay with Solidy's operations team.

How does compensation work?
It depends on the track. As a CFO as a Service professional, you're paid an hourly rate or a monthly retainer per client. As a Consultant Partner, you also share in the revenue from the contracts you bring in. Everything is set out in the partnership agreement, with full transparency.
How is a fractional CFO different from a traditional consultant?
A fractional CFO acts as an extension of the client's leadership team, taking part in decisions, planning, process design and governance, with a scope close to that of an in-house CFO. They also tend to stay with the company longer, while a consultant works on shorter projects.
Can I keep my executive role at another company?
Yes. The model lets you work part-time or outside business hours, as long as there's no conflict of interest with your current role.
Do I need to commit full-time?
No. You set your availability, and we bring you projects that match your profile, time and interests, from one-off needs to ongoing engagements.
Can I turn down offers or choose my projects?
Yes. You always review each project, its scope and terms before accepting. The goal is a partnership that works for both sides.
Can I contribute without taking on CFO engagements?
Yes. We value knowledge sharing: you can contribute through content, mentoring, events and forums with other partner executives.
